yeah, but you can't see anything other than the run.
Can't see who flew the flag, what direction it came from, etc., so it didn't do any good showing what they did.
WCYB ran a story about the controversial call at the state game tonight on the 6 o'clock news. Did anyone else see it?

It proves that it was a bogus call.
yeah i seen it, and all i seen was that Ethan raised his hand and tossed the ref the ball and the ref was lookin right at him when he threw him the ball..

i watched the webcast video from tonight's news. it wasn't a good video, but from the video it didn't appear he did anything out of the ordinary. did the coaches ever get an explanation as to who the penalty was called on and why?
No that is the whole problem, no one would give them a number to who the penalty was on and what the excessive celebration was

I watched today where they talked about how an NFL QB celebrated a TD pass and they were talking on how it was a positive thing and showed emotion, fire and excitement for the game, not taunting but celebrating, a-la the Joe Montana hands raised, take a 17 year old kid in the state championship game, coming from a storied area where football in all honesty is taken to be the be all end all, added the pure emotion of playing for your town, your teamates and in the memory of a fellow teamate.
Raise your hands Ethan, Im proud of you. If it was even because you did that, as it seems we do not know, but if it was, raise em high my friend. Raise em high.
I agree, there is an obvious difference between excitement and taunting.
I wouldn't want a kid out there that wasn't excited in a moment like that.
I've seen a lot more taunting over sacks, defended passes, etc than that.
The swan dive into the endzone when nobody is around. Absolutely thats a taunt. Being happy you score a touchdown, absolutely not.
What we've got here is failure to communicate. Some men you just can't reach, so you get what we had here last week which is the way he wants it. Well, he gets it.
I heard later in the game a fan threw a bottle and hit a ref I didn't ask if it was a Norton or Riverheads fan. Anyone see/hear this?
The controversial call is not Ethan Stewart...that's one part of it...the big one that no one has talked about because TV won't show it is the PASS INTERFERENCE call missed by the officials in the closing seconds of the game. It was blatant and none of the officials had the guts to throw the flag...it would have been much like the debate over the Riverheads pass completion/incompletion earlier in the game...It took the ref's almost five minutes of debating and then the ref overturned the side judge's call. Call it what you will, it's payback from Northern and Eastern Virginia for Southwest dominance in FB...the VHSL is looking to "level" the playing field...through controversy....
